Change Mobile Providers?

Jan 18, 2010 Author admin

The great thing about the mobile phone industry is that it is extremely competitive, especially between mobile phone providers and you can use this to your advantage to make sure you get the best deals. In this article we’ll be discussing whether you should change provider or try and get a better deal with your current one.

The first thing you should always do when trying to decide whether you need to change provider is ring your mobile phone company and see whether they have any better offers available. You’ll be surprised at the deals you can get just by asking because the different providers are desperate to make sure that you stay with them and don’t move to one of the competing companies. As they say, you never know what you’re going to get until you ask! In some cases they may not be able to offer you a better deal and in this case you should be upfront with them and tell them that you are thinking of moving to a different company. In many cases this will bully the company into making sure that they give you a better deal because they know that if you don’t then they will lose you as a customer, possibly forever.

Another way of working out whether you need to change provider or just get new contract with the existing company is to use mobile phone price comparison sites. These are an easy way of getting an overview of the market to see whether there are any better deals available and whether it would be worth the effort to try and change to a new one. In many cases you’ll be able to find a new deal because there are so many different types available.

Remember, you should always use the fact that mobile phone companies are competing with each other to your advantage so don’t be afraid to ask a better deals and don’t feel embarrassed if you tell them that you’re going to move into another company. The same trick will work with a wide range of different types of contract, for example you can use them if you’re trying to get a better deal on your broadband.
